My immune system is apparently still getting used to London life as I spent most of the weekend lying in bed with a sore throat and a snotty nose feeling generally miserable. I'm still a bit peaky but it's no worse than my general underlying hayfever at this time of year.

I did manage to muster my reserves to go to a friend's flat for dinner on Saturday night. He had pulled out all the stops and we had FIVE curries to choose from, plus tandoori chicken and lamb kebabs. It was the best thing I've put in my mouth in a while. It is so very rarely that I get to eat yummy delicious food that I haven't cooked myself (not to toot my own horn or anything, but Greg cooks once a week and we don't eat out), it's just a real treat. Om nom nom.

And now I'm in work for the solstice. It always feels slightly wrong somehow. Like my ancestors would really prefer that I take the day off and lie in bed.

Greg's getting sent to Hampshire on Wednesday – he'll be away for a month or so, but home on weekends. I’m really not used to living by myself anymore – but then there've been whole years when we only see each other on the weekends, I'm sure I'll get used to it again.
